InnoAlpha: Innovative Concepts for Alpha-emitting Radionuclide Generators and Spectroscopy for Nuclear Medical Research and Applications

Targeted alpha-therapy (TαT) holds an immense promise in cancer treatment. Yet, the current scarcity in α-emitting radionuclides supply for research and therapy poses a significant hurdle. Radionuclide generator concepts present a potential solution to this problem. InnoAlpha has two primary objectives: firstly, it aims to establish a foundation for development of novel radionuclide generators, and secondly, it aims to develop experimental spectroscopic strategy for probing the structural properties of radiopharmaceuticals labeled with Actinium (Ac). This strategy involves the use of synchrotron-based spectroscopic tools to assist in understanding bonding properties-function and stability relations of radiopharmaceuticals labeled with short-lived α-emitters like Ac-225.
